Contract Scope

The Vale, NL Voisey’s Bay project is a 6,000 tons/day Nickel and Copper ore mining and processing facility located 300 kilometers north of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL. The project involves an open pit mine with surface processing plant to produce Nickel and Copper concentrates.It is the intent of Vale, NL to improve workplace quality through yearly capital investment. This project is an on-going initiative to reduce risk to employees to as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA) in the concentrator and surrounding area by installing a steel wall lined with wear plates in the Primary Crusher surge pocket, adding a ventilation unit for the courier shack, adding access platforms for various sample cutters and pebble crusher shroud, dust control at the primary crusher building, and improve belt cleaning and clean up options for the pebble conveyors. The following document outlines the project requirements to be met by the Contractor. <h2 style="margin: 0in 0in 12pt; tab-stops: 38.5pt;"><a name="_Toc484600984"></a><a name="_Toc221006547">1.2 Safety</a></h2>Consideration to safety and personnel protection shall be given to all aspects of the installation of the equipment. Requirements of OH&S, local safety legislation and regulations, and Vale, NL corporate safety policies and procedures shall be fully complied with for this project.<a name="_Toc221006550"></a>Contractor to supply all personnel safety equipment for their employees and must comply with Vale policy. <h1 style="margin: 6pt 0in 12pt;"><a name="_Toc484600985">2.0 SCOPE OF WORK</a></h1><h2 style="margin: 0in 0in 12pt; tab-stops: 38.5pt;"><a name="_Toc484600986">2.1 Work Schedule</a></h2>The Contractor schedule is to include manpower requirements, mobilization and demobilization dates, daily work schedule, expected completion dates for each work component, and anticipated work delays. Schedule is to be submitted formally to the Company prior to commencing work.Performance of the Work shall be in accordance with the direction from the Company’s Tailings & Water Management Coordinator, site manager or designate. It is expected that the scope of work will be performed as per Company requested schedule, commencing Mid-July 2017. <h2 style="margin: 8pt 0in 6pt 0.75in; text-align: justify; line-height: 150%; text-indent: -0.75in;"><a name="_Toc484600987">2.2 Detailed Scope of Work</a></h2>Areas to be repaired are shown on attached drawings and photos. Some additional liner patches maybe requested by Company’s Tailings & Water Management Coordinator, site manager or designate. Any additional work will be Company approved by written communication and agreed upon on a case by case basis. Contractors to provide an hourly labor charge rates for all employees, minimum charge rate for each day while on site, and all applicable charges to be invoiced during the entirety of this project. The following are general notes regarding the scope of work to be performed by the contractor: <ul style="list-style-type: disc; direction: ltr;"><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">All work required by this specification is to be completed by experienced, qualified, competent workers. Contractor is to provide all documentation pertaining to the qualifications of its people at the request of the Company.</li></ul><ul style="list-style-type: disc; direction: ltr;"><li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">Personnel must be trained in First Aid and complete site specific training while onsite. </li><li style="'color:" rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;'><p style="'text-align:" justify; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 12pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo3;'>Contractor is to ensure that the work areas associated with the scope of work is kept tidy, free of clutter, and accessible to the Company’s personnel.
