Contract Scope

Work Start: Jan 7, 2019

3.       Scope

    1. Detailed Scope of Work to be performed by the Contractor shall include the following:

      The Contractor shall provide certified technician(s) to perform as a “Turn Key Service” the Work as described below:

    2. Annual Inspection of the DGPS in Edwards Cove to confirm the signal integrity. This shall be completed through the measurement of two (2) established reference points. These points shall be at mid range, approximately Mt. Pickle, and far field, approximately Skull or Humby’s Island. These measurements combined with the integral monitoring of the DGPS will assure operational stability.

      Servicing is composed of equipment tests, antenna mount integrity on the tower and inspection of the insulators mounted along the length of the tower.

       

    3. Annual inspection of the towers and lights, as listed below in Section 3 from Edwards Cove out to Turtle Island.

      1. All light sources to be maintained within Canadian Coast Guard rated intensities.

      2. During the annual inspection the batteries, charging systems, lights and all VHF radios shall be checked for range, stability and accuracy.

      3. Fixed light routine maintenance of lights to comply with the Canadian Coast Guard rated intensity levels.

      4. Integrity checks of the alignment of Range lights and Sector lights shall be completed by conducted using a boat with certified design engineers as required by the Canadian Coast Guard.

      5. As part of the Sector Light routine maintenance, this unit will require a major overhaul at the end of five (5) years of operation (from 2017). The cost of this is covered in the “Turn-key” rate.

      6. The day markers will be replaced or repaired as required during routine maintenance. The cost of this is covered in the “Turn-key” Rate.

      7. All towers shall be tested and re-torqued to specifications throughout to ensure consistency along with tests of all anchor locks, guy wire tension, and tower safety rails and platforms

      8. This Annual Inspection shall be completed in conjunction with the Annual inspection of the DGPS as per Item 2.1.
