Vale Newfoundland & Labrador Limited (Vale NL) are inviting submissions of an Expression of Interest for a potential opportunity to support the Voisey’s Bay Mine Expansion Project in Voisey’s Bay, NL.

Scope of Work

Temporary Power for Underground Development & Construction

This package includes the rental and installation of temporary power generation at the Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps portals. It includes the design, supply, installation, connections, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of a total of 9 paralleled 930 kW temporary generators (6 for Eastern Deeps and 3 for Reid Brook), step up transformers and 13,8 kV switchgear.  The design shall include required redundancies to ensure constant supply to the mine for maintenance and operations.

The scope of work includes the design, fabrication, shop testing and shall be complete including all materials and required hardware necessary to complete the assembly and commissioning of temporary power generators. All equipment will be mounted inside a weather-protected enclosure for ease of maintenance and operation to be installed on compacted ground prepared by others. The scope includes delivery to the consolidation yard.   The scope includes oversight to inspect, advise and approve the installation at site.  Also includes the supply and installation of all cabling between the generators, e-houses and portable substations (e-houses and portable substations to be provided by others).

Excludes all foundation works.
