Vale Newfoundland & Labrador Limited (Vale NL) are inviting submissions of an Expression of Interest for a potential opportunity to support the Voisey’s Bay Mine Expansion Project in Voisey’s Bay, NL                                                                                      Electric Diaphragm pumps will be used in the VBME mining operations to pick up mine water off the ground and deliver it to nearby sumps, particularly at active mining faces, and in low lying areas that experience ponding from relatively low flow.  Diaphragm Pumps are required to lift ground water off the floors of the excavated drifts and deliver it to either the pump skid reservoirs, or into the main decline road ditches at a rate of about 3.8 l/s (60 US gpm), and 5 m (16.4 feet) total dynamic head (45 kPa or 7 psi).  Each Diaphragm Pump installation will include a pump, fabricated steel base, suction hose and strainer, discharge hose, power cable, and a power quick connect cord end.  The control panel and starter will be supplied by others. It is anticipated the Diaphragm Pumps will operate intermittently for up to 24 hours per day during normal operating conditions, based on local sump level controls. ">Electric Diaphragm Pumps will be required for:   All off-ramp excavations from both Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps declines that are driven downwards, creating low lying areas   On occasion in the remucks to deal with water migration into the remucks over time.  Low lying areas where ground water inflows create significant ponding.
